a simple harvest wreath

I enjoy having a little wreath hanging on my mirror in the foyer as you've seen here, here, here.

However, it's important that I make it thin enough so I can still see my mug when needed; so, this quick, little project fits the bill for harvest season.

I made this one for fall with a flat mdf floral ring ($1.99) from Michael's and some fabric pieces that my mother-in-law gave me a while ago.  Using my Gingher pinking shears, I cut thin strips of fabric and tied them around the wreath alternating the orange and green plaid.  It was actually quite simple and relaxing.  I tied a little piece of burlap at the top and hung it using one of these small 3M Command wire hooks.

Now, I need to think about what else I'm doing around the house for fall.  How about you?  What projects are inspiring you this season?!?
